Sentech AS

Established in 1995, the Sentech AS team developed and patented the SeCaP Single Electrode Capacitance sensor technology. This technology now forms the core of a range of products that provide highly accurate, stable and versatile measurement solutions for the oil and gas and subsea production markets.

Bjørn Engebretsen and Morten Halleraker developed SeCaP™ (Single Electrode Capacitance Probe) technology in close cooperation with Sintef in Trondheim and Norsk Hydro Research Centre in Porsgrunn.

In September 2006, the Measurement Systems Division of Cameron (NYSE:CAM) acquired the SeCaP technology and Sentech’s oil and gas related product lines. The acquisition agreement specifies that Cameron will assume the manufacturing and marketing of Sentech’s existing line of water cut meters, profile meters and slug detection units and will include each of these products under its current NuFlo™ brand. The agreement also outlines that Cameron will license back to Sentech the SeCAP technology for the development of a line of products to support subsea production applications.
